Green Giant Seasoned Steamers
These were recently 2/$4 at my Publix and I had a ton of $1.00 off 1 coupons....so needless to say we stocked up on these. There were only a couple varieties Chase could eat because of his GFCF diet but it was great to nuke these in the microwave for a quick side dish on a busy day!
There are 6 different varieties:
Tuscan Seasoned Broccoli ~Yum!
Mediterranean Blend ~So,so
Brussels Sprouts ~Yum (if you like Brussels sprouts...i do!)
Honey Roasted Sweet Corn ~Yum!
Honey Dijon Carrots ~ Ick! (My husband & I both did not like these...the carrots didn't get as soft as we like & the Dijon sauce...ick)
Backyard Grilled Potatoes ~ Yum (you can't go wrong with grilled potatoes!)
Here's a link for $1.00 of 1 so you can try them out yourself:

Ex Ex Exercisssee!!
Its been a struggle for me the past 4-5 months to get back on the exercise wagon after my dad passing away. I was still watching what I was eating for the most part, but physically I just didn't want to do a thing! BUT, this week I jumped back on the wagon. I started Tuesday...Mondays just suck when I'm starting anything for some reason. I hopped on my treadmill for 30 min @ 3mph and jogged a little bit to get my heart rate up. Then I did 30 mins of weight training. So yay! Four consecutive days of exercise no matter how tired, sore or how much I tried to talk myself out of it...I did it...and still going!
This is what I've eaten so far...
Breakfast:
100 Calorie Yoplait Greek Yogurt
Banana
Lunch:
Homemade Vegetable Soup
Approx 300 Calories
Dinner:
Probably more Veggie Soup
I am sticking to a 1200 calorie diet...I usually eat more than this...
Veggie Soup Recipe
2 Quarts Fat Free low Sodium Chicken Broth
2 Cans diced tomato's
4 carrots, peeled and Sliced
1 1/2 large onion, Chopped
4 teaspoons garlic, minced
1/2 cabbage, chopped
1/2 lb Lean Ground Beef
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Brown the meat with the garlic & set aside. Pour broth & canned tomato's into a large pot. Add Vegetables, spices and meat. Bring to a boil. Put the lid on & turn down to simmer and cook until the veggies are soft. And enjoy!

So here we go...
What do I know about starting a blog? Absolutely nothing, but I have had this fantasy about writing my own blog since watching Julia & Julia years ago. One of my favorite movies of all time! Julia cooks her way through Julia Child's cookbook and blogs about it the whole way. I love the thought of having an outlet to share my thoughts & ideas with people who want to listen...hopefully someone out there will want to listen.
I love to cook and bake things that I never have made before...no matter the difficulty...it doesn't always work out, but hey I love to challenge myself. One of my passions is party planning and dinner parties! I just love to see peoples faces when I have pulled something spectacular off! Its worth all the hours I spent putting menus and themes together!
A recent adventure I have started is putting my son on a Gluten and dairy free diet. It has definitely been an adventure seeing what things he will and just will NOT eat. Ha! The more things I can cook and bake myself the better! Its not only cheaper, but I know exactly what is in the food I am making.
I myself am trying to lose the last 50lbs of my long journey! So far I have lost almost 100lbs...yes that's right..you read that correctly! It seems the first 100 lbs fell off and this last stretch of my journey is a real struggle. But I am taking it one day at a time...that's all we can do right?
